WebJul 18, 2024 · Loosen the 2 bolts that secure the fork legs to the frame and the caps upon each leg. Then loosen the brake caliper bolts and the whole front axle of the bike. Put the bike in gear and chock the rear wheel. Raise the front wheel off the ground as far as needed. Remove the brake calipers, fender, front wheel and any other hanging cables. WebJan 6, 2009 · Some bikes have the fender bolts on the inside of the forks and require that the front wheel be removed. (The bolts are just too long and the tire/rim gets in the way) It's not terribly difficult to remove the front wheel on most bikes. Just take your time in making sure everything is lined up correctly when replacing the wheel.

WebFeb 14, 2010 · start off by taking the 22mm nut off the axle. then losen the 12mm bolts.2 on each side. take off the 14mm bolts from the calipers. 2 on each side and remove calipers. Knock out the axle bolt with hammer and i used a 1/4" nut driver. the nut driver didnt damage the axle bolt. now you want to knock it out from the side with the nut you took off.
