Webb30 apr. 2024 · I was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer in late 2013, and had a total thyroidectomy in January 2014. This was followed up by RAI spring 2014, after which my scan came back clear. I had a second RAI scan the following year, and then a PET scan the year after that due to the presence of thyroglobulin antibodies in my bloodwork. Tg testing is not recommended for use as a screening procedure to detect the presence of thyroid cancer in the general population.
